What a day.............and night at the yard.......

Transition from a civil engineer to a trainee Structural Engineer does take its toll..... for my body to endure more than a day at site. On the 15th this month, I have the opportunity to assist senior engineers in monitoring the load out process for B11 LQ. Lots of preparation need to be done before proper execution could be carry out. Start in the very morning of 15th 0130 hours GMT, the barge that docked along the yard facing the Sejingkat river, were turned accordingly by 2 tugboats against the current. The purpose of the turning is to allow the tide that comes approximately at 0500 hours GMT.

To make story short, here's the sequences!

Turn the barge----->fastened the ropes or steel ropes by tying it to the bollards---->wait until the tide comes in at 0500 hour GMT---> time for the LQ to start moving--->takes about 6 hours for the LQ to be entirely secured and place on the top of barge---->Sea fastening work to commence------> another 4 hours approximated for welder/ techinician to the work---->the barge turned for the second time---->resume work on sea fastening till continue tomorrow.

Here are the screenshots of the first loadout (for me okay!) for B11 LQ undersigned by BD. Although I'm 9 days late for posing the pictures, I guess it ain't hurt to post isn't it? Being in the said company merely a month, I find it very challenging, and exciting ( Damn i can't find the exact word to replace the 'exciting'). Guess I leave as it is then.

Workers doing their thing.

The 2 tugboats assist in turning the barge 90 degrees.

Air marine doing their job. Moving the LQ by using special rollers or boogies.

broad side view of the LQ being loaded to the barge.

The package is safety being loaded to the barge. It's time for sea-fastening!

From office work to site work here and there, for an excruciating 25 hours non stop delivery, at last the the damn Living Quarters (BD) is safe off the ground. I guess the floating barge can withstand more than 1k metric tonnes of gigantic steel structures on top of it. Oil and gas Industry sure does bring alot of chances for anybody who loves challenge in their life.

Meeting with fellow friends

Today I'm having my gathering with 2 of my closest friends, Alex and Melvin. Venue; Starbuck tHe Spring. ........and all three of us armed to teeth with their own gadgets to serve.

Melvin with his dell Inspiron 6000, Alex with HP Aspire 4590 and mine, HP pavilion dv2.
Playing mafia wars, checking facebook, and stuff. I have to admit it the broadband connection here in starbuck much much faster than my mine at home. not to say its the most secure yet fast.but yet it's satisfying.

Livepool 4 Chelsea 4......................dream to reach the semifinals with the Red Devils and the Gunner turn to shreds despite the reds try to out turn the 3-1 deficit in the 1st leg in Anfield.

Why Reds, why? now the title challenge has shifted with 1 point behind Manchester United with 1 game in hand. Champions' League's gone, FA Cup gone and what next? EPL?
